Columbia
Elementary
School District
is a kindergarten through eighth grade district located on the
east side of
Redding,
California.
Our district prides itself on providing a rich learning
environment through direct teacher/student instruction and
strong supportive services. Our teachers maintain high
professional standards and are always on the cutting edge of new
learning models and methods. Our test scores are high and we are
continuing to strive for improvement each year by implementing a
consistent and articulated curriculum from preschool through 8th
grade. We operate an outstanding private preschool that
coordinates a seamless transition into our kindergarten classes.
Our elementary site also houses two
Community
Day Schools;
one K-6 and one 6-8, while our middle school houses students
from grades 6 - 8.
At the Columbia District
we work hard to provide a safe and positive learning environment for our
students. We have active parent groups that contribute in a myriad of ways to
our students’ success. The community at large is encouraged to participate in
all school activities. Attendance at all of our school plays and special events
is overwhelming. Our Parent groups support projects throughout the schools and
allow students to participate in extracurricular activities not funded by the
school.
Our
students are exceptionally well behaved and are taught respect and
responsibility as a part of everything they do. We believe in positive
relationships and communication, and award our children for being safe,
responsible, respectful, as well as trying hard, doing their best, and being
cooperative.
